THANK YOU

I HAVE MANAGED MUCH THANKS TO often famous "OTHERS", SO, THANK YOU:

1. MAKING ME BELIEVE IN MYSELF 1.

Marilyn Monroe, for by putting me in your lap at the Cannes Film Festival (where either my father’s Mi Tio Jacinto or his friend Latzi Vajda’s Tarde de Toros was presented/rewarded). I do not remember anything of this – father said you ruffled my hair and said I was cute – but though my life per definition has been downhill since then, I've always figured I ought to have thought; If at the age of one or two…     VIDEO

2. PUBLISHING ME.

Kjell Erik Sellin who published my Svenskt Konstglas on my first attempt to write something, and helped make the book successful and myself rich and famous (though I would appreciate it if you paid me for the last 1000 books or so: it's been over 25 years) and to Copenhagen's Gyldendal that I believe would have translated The Challenge into Danish and published it, hadn’t I made such an ass out of myself. You guys made me feel that I had chosen the right path and that I could write.

3 MAKING ME BELIEVE IN MYSELF

Tibor Rebeneck who showed me the way back when I was down and out, to Göran Lomander and Nils Levan who made my academic career possible, to Zoltan Petery who planted in me the notion that I could get a little better than ok at academia and to Magnus Lindqvist who taught me how to play bridge double-quick by telling me what an idiot I was every five minutes or so.

4. IMPROVING ME 2.

Charlotte Widenfelt and her husband Knut Knutson who got me into art glass, and to Anders Grönberg who helped me with my early Swedish texts of The Caspian Connection and who probably has forgotten more about Swedish Art Glass than I can ever hope to learn. Thank you to Laura Pomeroy who took on the well-nigh impossible task of attempting to make it unnoticeable that English is my fifth language. Thank you to Alf Rhen, Jan Hartman, and Michael Thornhill for having pointed out at least some of the occasions when I've been more than usually stupid, wrong, or incomprehensible. Special thanks to Kunal (who has also taught me a lot about Sunderbans' tigers), and also to Tanny, Raja, and to all you other guys at that very special Kolkata Press Club. You guys made me better. And, last but not least, thank you to Mercedes who has helped me get my literary act together.

5. MAKING ME DIGITAL.

Thank you to Subrata (and to Swapan and Shopun) who have helped turn my texts digital, and to all you Indian guys who have not only helped me with advice but also taught me how to benefit from Indian expertise. A special thank you to Faik Gotovusa (Den här e-postadressen skyddas mot spambots. Du måste tillåta JavaScript för att se den.) for not only making me this website and listening to all my silly questions (throwing a computer at me only once) but also for making me understand the reality (assuming there is such a thing) of Internet publishing and the amazing possibilities afforded by a well-designed website. Last but not least, thank you, Maja, who has made the astonishing covers.

6. TRANSLATING ME.

Thank you to Mom for making the first English-to-Swedish translation for me, and to all the translators who have translated me and my father against nothing but the hope of commission on future sales: to Iva who was the first, to Amanda and David who taught me how to behave properly (or at least better) and to my new and exciting English/Spanish-into-Italian translators. Also, thanks to those I hope shall deliver and to all those new translators who I hope shall contact me. Also, a big thank you to Zeina, Graciela, Maruxa, Paci, and all of you at the Ace Bridge Club for proofreading my dodgy Swedish, English, French, and Spanish.

7.  MAKING MY PROJECT A GREAT SUCCESS.

Oops! Well, that has not happened quite yet, but in order for that to happen, I figure the following ingredients could well be important.

7.1. TRANSLATORS.

Both Andres Laszlo Sr. and Andres Laszlo Jr. are looking for further translations: my thoughts about future translation needs are outlined on this English homepage.

7.2. SPONSORS.

There are at least two good reasons for sponsoring the writings of Andres Laszlo Sr. & Andres Laszlo Jr. (i) Senior has been unfairly forgotten, something that is elaborated upon in "Project Revive Father" & (ii) Junior has some interesting thoughts not only about drug policy but also about how and why we organize ourselves in social structures that are not beneficial for our well-being: Dysfunctional Discourses. The first book (The Drug Problem) is already available in English and the second (How & Why) is hopefully coming.

7.3. FINANCIAL PARTNERS.

Even if Internet publishing and promoting my father indeed are fascinating and rewarding activities, I prefer writing. I believe I have something big and truly entertaining (The Caspian Connection) and something truly important (Dysfunctional Discourses) to say, and therefore I want time for writing. Thus, if I were made a financial suggestion that would allow me to devote more time and attention to this, I would be likely to listen. Maybe you want to be an active partner or a sleeping one, maybe you want to have influence or options regarding my projects or texts, maybe you want to acquire the rights to some language or region... I will listen but don't wait too long.

7.4. BOOK-SELLERS.

In this time and age, I suppose selling e-books means project/social media management and engagement in "sales tools" such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Youtube, Instagram, Google+, blogging, etc. Selling is the next phase for me and as my website is starting to look presentable, it's time for me to start looking for booksellers. I can, and enjoy doing: lecturing, television, and even book signings (and I can do all that in lots of languages), but that’s pretty much it. If you think that you could sell my books, using my or my father's texts as one of your tools, please do not hesitate to contact me. What I think of as my employment needs are outlined in the article "Job," or "Indian Jobs" which might or might not be published here.

A BIG THANK YOU TO EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU, INCLUDING ALL THOSE WHOM I HAVE FAILED TO MENTION.
